FAST-GROWING ENGINEERING FIRM
MOVES TO ALEXANDRIA
ENGINEERING GROUPE MOVES INSIDE THE BELTWAY TO BETTER SERVICE
URBAN CLIENTS
ALEXANDRIA, VA—November 15, 2003— Woodbridge,
VA-based The Engineering Groupe has opened an office in Alexandria,
VA at 121 South Alfred Street.
Since it was incorporated in Woodbridge, VA, in 1990, The
Engineering Groupe has grown from 5 to 130 people and added
offices in Leesburg and Fredericksburg, VA.
Most of the firm’s work has been in suburban Northern
Virginia, but with the addition of a full-service engineering
and construction management office in Alexandria, the firm
will now be able to serve clients in the close-in urban areas
of Northern Virginia.
The Engineering Groupe provides a complete array of engineering
and construction management services, including feasibility
studies; land planning; civil engineering; land development
engineering; surveying; landscape architecture; water resources
engineering; highway engineering; and construction administration.
It provides these services to national and local residential
builders and developers; multi family residential builders;
local and state government; and national and local commercial
and industrial builder/developers. The Engineering Groupe
primarily works in the Northern Virginia region and its growth
corridors to the west and south; however, it takes on projects
outside of the region when an existing client or a new client
seeks out its services.
Company President Skip Groupe attributes much of his firm’s
success to customer service. “We treat our clients right,”
he said. “We assume maximum responsibility for the success
of their project so they can spend less time on management
and more time doing their jobs better.”
“While working as a partner in several construction
ventures, I discovered there were no consultants who truly
understood our needs having never walked in our shoes,”
Groupe said. “No firm provided the kind of quality and
services I was looking for.” As a result, he formed
an in-house team of five engineers and one surveyor. Soon
after, he turned his in-house team into a separate company
and never looked back.
“Skip’s business experience helps us understand
our clients’ needs and the ‘big picture,’”
explained Bruce Reese, Director of Engineering at The Engineering
Groupe and one of the original employees. “Most engineering
firms only know about engineering, but not about what goes
on before and afterwards. We make engineering decisions that
accommodate the entire process, which minimizes mistakes and
maximizes speed and cost efficiency,” he added.
