MR. JOHN MATUSIK, PE, APPOINTED TO THE VIRGINIA STORMWATER MANAGEMENT HANDBOOK TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

WOODBRIDGE, VA—January 22, 2008

John (Skip) Groupe, IV, PE, President of The Engineering Groupe, Inc. of Woodbridge, is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. John Matusik to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Stormwater Management Handbook Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). Mr. John Matusik, PE, currently serves as the Vice President and Director of Water Resources for The Engineering Groupe, Inc. Mr. Matusik’s expertise and keen interest in stormwater management has earned him this great honor.

His project experience includes engineering analysis and applications related to water resources, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis for stormwater management, and flood plain studies, including lake, dam and spillway design, dam safety analysis, and watershed drainage studies. He has designed roadways, commercial site developments, hydraulic structures, storm drainage systems, and prepared feasibility studies for retail, commercial, and residential projects.

In addition to this appointment, Mr. Matusik is also an Adjunct Professor of Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He is a member of the Virginia Floodplain Managers Association (VFMA), Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), Virginia Lakes and Watershed Association (VLWA), and the American Water Resources Association (AWRA). He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Engineers and Surveyors Institute (ESI) and was the coordinating editor and co-author for the 1,000 page Land Development Handbook, published in 1996 by McGraw Hill.
